According to reports, a man was found chained and burnt alive inside his locked apartment in Alandur, Chennai. The man was identified as Mohammed Sultan who was a resident of the apartment.
After noticing smoke billowing from Sultan's house on Wednesday evening, his neighbours broke down the lock to see him chained with a metal wire and burnt to death. His hands and legs were also found tied.
The St Thomas Mount police have initiated an investigation. It was found that Sultan is involved in real estate business and also owns a mobile phone shop in Richie Street. It is suspected that Sultan was murdered due to competition in business.
