Chennai: Man beaten to death for asking for free bananas

A 36-year-old man was beaten up in Pulianthope two weeks ago by a fruit vendor for allegedly asking for free bananas. Reportedly, the man succumbed to his injuries and died on Saturday at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.

The victim, Murugan asked for some free bananas from Krishnan, a differently-abled fruit vendor. Krishnan, however, refused to give him free bananas and an argument ensued between the two.

Krishnan reportedly got enraged and assaulted the victim with a wooden leg.
