According to reports, the Madras High Court has given permission for an extension to shops inside temples in Tamil Nadu. It reportedly ordered the shops to close within December 31 of this year.
Reportedly, the HC on March 22 had ordered the temple-based shops to be evicted within eight weeks. However, since the deadline was way too short, the HC has permitted for an extension of the eviction.
The court orders came after a massive fire broke out on February 2 in TN's famous Madurai Meenakshi temple. The fire reportedly destroyed many shops inside.
