The Madras High Court on Tuesday reportedly dismissed the appeal of Dhaswanth, who raped and killed a 7-year-old girl, and confirmed death sentence for him. The HC upheld the order passed by Chengalpet court in February this year.
The Chengalpet court had sentenced him to death on February 19, 2018. Dhaswanth’s side appealed to the Madras High Court alleging irregularities in the investigation of the case.
Dhaswanth had raped, murdered and burnt the body of the girl in February 2017. Later, he was released on bail. This time, he murdered his mother Sarala and fled with money and jewellery.
