According to reports, the Congress and Janata Dal-Secular lawmakers in Karnataka will stage a dharna in front of Raj Bhavan, if the Governor Vajubhai Vala declines to meet them. Reports also suggested that the Congress will move Supreme Court if the Governor does not invite HD Kumaraswamy of JD(S) to form the government.

BJP emerged as the single largest party in Karnataka with 104 Assembly seats in its kitty. Congress won 78 seats, while JD(S) won 37 seats. JD(S) also claimed that they have the support of two independent MLAs and an MLA of Bahujan Samaj Party. The Congress and JD(S) alone have 115 lawmakers to their support, which crosses the majority mark of 112.

Meanwhile, BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Yeddyurappa claimed that he has the support of the required number of MLAs to form the government. He also said that the Governor will call him to take oath as the Chief Minister on Thursday. Amidst the race to form the government, the allegations of horse-trading are also emerging.
