Actor-politician Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Kaala's release is facing the heat in Karnataka. Even though the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday gave permission to theatres to screen the film if they want, protests are likely to be expected. Kaala is being strongly opposed by pro-Kannada activists.
Rajinikanth on Wednesday appealed to Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and requested him to permit security at theatres. He also appealed to the Karnataka Film Chambers in Kannada and said, "The Film Chambers is supposed to ensure that there's no problem for distributors. It is not right that the Karnataka Film Chamber demands Kaala ban."
CM Kumaraswamy, however, already made his decision clear on Tuesday. He reportedly stated as a CM he will comply with the orders of the court, but as an individual, he felt that the time was not right for the film's release.
