Jayalalithaa's alleged hospital expenses go viral! More than a crore spent on food?

Recently, a bill from Apollo Hospitals covering Jayalalithaa's expenses during her treatment has been making its rounds on social media. The authenticity of the bill is not yet verified. However, the bill contains some extraordinary figures.

Jayalalithaa's expenses spanned to a grand total of Rs 6.85 crore. Services including consultation, room rent, equipment, medicines and nursing utilities charged by Apollo Hospitals cost Rs 1.92 crore. Professional charges paid to Dr Richard Beale from London and Mount Elizabeth Hospitals in Singapore cost Rs 2.21 crore.

The most shocking figure comes from the food and beverages services which estimated to Rs 1.17 crore. Including other expenses, the total came up to Rs 6.8 crore.
