A mid-air collision over Chennai was averted after an IndiGo flight and an Indian Air Force jet almost collided with each other at 9:49 pm on May 21. Reportedly, the two aircraft were just 300 feet away when the IndiGo flight received a Resolution Advisory (RA) after which it steered away from the jet.
In a statement, IndiGo reportedly said, "An IndiGo flight 6E- 647 (Vizag-Bengaluru) was involved in a resolution advisory at flight level 240, on May 21."
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is currently investigating the incident.
