Actor Vishal, while addressing the press at the Chennai airport, declared that he would prefer ballot paper method for elections over the Electronic Voting Machines. Vishal said this when asked if those who won the elections so far have benefitted from alleged rigging of EVMs. “If you ask me, I’d believe in ballot paper,” the actor said.
Earlier political parties including Congress and Aam Aadmi Party alleged rigging of the EVMs. They alleged that the machines were manipulated to register votes in favour of particular parties. Even in Karnataka, the Congress alleged that the machines were rigged in the recently concluded Assembly elections and demanded the restoration of ballot paper-based voting in the future elections.
Actor Vishal, further responding to a question on the ‘Nadigar Sangam’ building, said that the building will be opened in coming December or January.
