An elderly woman living in Kasimedu, Chennai was locked inside her house by the house owner for allegedly not paying the rent. Reportedly, Pappathi is a flower-seller and paid her rent every three months. However, due to financial circumstances, she was unable to pay rent for four months. The house owner, Ranganathan fought with her for not paying up her rent. Allegedly, Ranganathan locked up her house and his house on Saturday and went out of station.

 

Realising she was locked inside, Pappathi panicked. She informed her sister using her phone and brought the police. However, due to lack of food and water, Pappathi fell unconscious. The police had to break the lock and retrieve her.

 

Investigations are currently on to nab the house owner.
