Heavy rain lashes Kovai: One dead

According to reports, an 80-year-old woman died when the roof of her house collapsed in heavy rain at Negamam near Pollachi in Coimbatore on Tuesday. Sellammal, who was sleeping when the accident happened was admitted to a local hospital after her neighbors heard her cries.

Similarly, a 40-year-old woman Kalamani, a resident of Kuppanur, was injured when the concrete roof of her house collapsed in rain. She is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sirumugai.
