The Madras High Court on Tuesday announced that those who are found complicit in sand smuggling will be booked under the Goondas Act. It also reportedly stated that without the help of government officials, sand smuggling will not be possible. The HC ordered the Chief Secretary to take disciplinary action against government authorities if found complicit in sand smuggling.
The Madras High Court also informed that a circular will be sent to all police stations regarding the new order.
