Tasmac shops in Chennai? Government orders Opening of Tasmac shops in More areas - Details!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsAround 60 Tasmac outlets which remained closed till Friday, will be re-opening in and around Chennai on Saturday. Amid those 60, liquor shops in Tiruvallur district are also reopening.
Most of these shops are situated 50 km away from the city. “The shops that were opened in Kancheepuram district recorded better sale due to demand from city residents. Reopening another 60 liquor outlets will increase the revenue to Tasmac by a minimum of Rs 1 crore per day,” an official told TOI.
As per the norms, an individual can purchase 4.5 litre or 7.8 litre of Indian made and foreign made beer respectively. From the total number of shops located in Chengalpet and Kancheepuram, only 24 shops are currently operating. However, opening up more shops in these areas which are situated 70 km away from the main city will reduce crowding.
TOI has also reported that the number of coupons will be issued depending upon the demand. This coupon system is being followed throughout Tamil Nadu for around a week, since the centre ordered all the liquor outlets to open.
