According to a report in TNIE, four of the protesters who died during the 100th day of protest against the Sterlite factory in Thoothukudi were prominent leaders of anti-Sterlite protests.
All the four have reportedly been shot at in the head or chest, which gives way for suspicion whether they were specifically targeted.
Tamilarasan, the coordinator of anti-Sterlite movement, Snowlin, coordinator of the protest at Madha Koil locality, Maniraj, coordinator of Damodar Nagar locality and Gladston, coordinator of Metupatti locality, were the alleged leaders of the anti-Sterlite movement who were killed in police firing.
However, other activists in Thoothukudi reportedly brushed off this allegation saying that there were no such leaders.
