Footboard travel in trains to lead to cancellation of rail pass: RPF Commissioner
Home > Tamil Nadu newsFollowing the deaths of five youths in a tragic accident in St Thomas Mount railway station last week, senior officials of railway have begun an investigation into the matter. K A Manoharan, the Southern Circle Railway Safety Commissioner, along with Louis Amuthan, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, RPF Chennai and senior officials, have started the probe.
They began the investigation with railway employees and train passengers, who witnessed the accident. In the accident, which took place early on last Tuesday, four people died and at least five others were critically injured. The death toll rose to five when one of the injured died on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters, Louis Amuthan warned that necessary actions will be taken to cancel the rail passes of those who are caught standing on the footboard while travelling in the trains.
