According to reports, the food security department officials have seized as many as 2-ton mangoes from markets that were made to ripen with Ethylene. When officials went for rapid inspections in popular fruit markets in Chennai, they found that the mangoes were made to ripen illegally. The officials also destroyed the mangoes.
