According to reports, a seven-year-old boy from Krishnagiri district was sold for Rs 20,000 by his own father. Local people saw the boy rearing sheep of another villager and immediately informed a non-profit organisation.

The boy is a migrant from another village and was living with his alcoholic father after his mother died. Allegedly the boy was taken away after his father could not return back Rs 20,000 that he had borrowed. The boy was rescued and sent to a children's home.

Reportedly, the boy has two elder siblings who were also taken away similarly. A rescue mission is going on to find the two. No police report has been filed so far.
