District Collector strikes on Fake Doctors, 33 Clinics sealed; 22 Quacks Arrested, Many on the Run!

After Collector Divyadharshini ordered to form a team to hunt down fake doctors in Ranipet, 22 arrests were made over night.  These fake doctors have been opening their clinics regularly and were targeting the poor.

Previously 4 fake doctors were arrested in the district following which the police team tracked the others. 7 from Sholinghur, 3 from Kalavai, 2 from Arkad, 1 from Valajapettai, 3 from Nemili, and 6 from Arakkonam were arrested.

These doctors were supposedly targeting the poor. They continued to open their clinics and offer treatment even after the lockdown commenced. In particular, these fake doctors have been attending patients who are afraid to admit themselves at a government facility after showing the symptoms of coronavirus.

The police team has also sealed 33 clinics which were run by these fake doctors. All the medical tools and machinery were confiscated by the police. According to the police, apart from the 22, some other fake doctors have absconded and are yet to be arrested.
