Many countries have already started vaccination for their people and in India also we are doing it with locally produced Covishield and Covaxin vaccines at a fast pace. However, still people are having doubts on vaccination in general, and also about this covid vaccine in particular.
To clear these doubts, Dr. A. Mohamed Hakkim (Emergency medicine) from Trichy throws some light on Covid vaccines, explaining who and who cannot take this vaccine, and gives us some guidelines to be followed during the process of vaccination.
Persons allergic to vaccine ingrediants, pregnant women, people with less immunity & low WBC count, with comorbidity, adolescents and children cannot take vaccine without consulting a doctor.
Also, vaccinated people should eat lot of water content fruit and vegetables, drink lot of water, have good sleep of 6-8 hours, avoid drinking and smoking for two weeks, and women getting conceived for two months. Also, those who have tested positive for RTPCR cannot donate blood till Covid symptoms remain in them.
People should take all precautionary and preventive measures to avoid getting infected by Covid-19, and also make others understand this disease and help in combatting the pandemic.
