'Water Price Increases in Chennai,' Drinking Water Board's Official Announcement

Reportedly, there has been a major share of water supply for many apartments in Chennai. Every day number of water lorries have been sent to fulfil the water needs of thousands of families across Chennai.
Therefore a charge of Rs.700 was being charged for 9000 litres of water supply and RS 435 was being charged for 6 thousand litres of water.
As per the revised rates, Rs 700 has been increased to Rs 735 and Rs 435 has been increased to 499. Similarly, the water rates for commercial purpose has also been increased.
According to the new rates RS 500 will be charged for 3 thousand litres, RS 735 for 6 thousand litres and Rs 1050 for 12 thousand litres.
