TN Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Tuesday met reporters in Chennai where he denied having any links with the professor Nirmala Devi who was arrested for allegedly luring students into offering sexual favors for officials of the Madurai Kamaraj University.
The 46-year-old professor of Devanga Arts College had earlier claimed that she knows the Governor, who is the chancellor of the university.
"I don't even know her face... I am above politics. Strict action will be taken if someone is found guilty. We will get to know only after an inquiry," Governor Purohit told reporters.
