DMK legislators on Thursday staged a walkout from the state assembly after being not allowed to speak on the Thoothukudi police firing, say reports. Terming the firing incident a ‘conspiracy’, party working president MK Stalin said that he sought CBI inquiry into the matter during the Zero Hour of the Assembly.

The Opposition leader also stated that the Justice Aruna Jagadeesan-headed one-member enquiry commission, formed by the state government, to probe the matter is an eyewash. Stalin alleged impersonation during the police firing at anti-Sterlite protesters in Thoothukudi and didn’t rule out possibilities of taking the matter to a judicial court.

Terming the enquiry commission as ‘fake commission’, the DMK  leader also alleged that DGP TK Rajendran and Thoothukudi police officials were involved in the ‘conspiracy.
