Dhivakaran names his political outfit

VK Sasikala’s brother V Dhivakaran on Sunday reportedly named his political outfit as Anna Dravidar Kazhagam following a split from his nephew and RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran. Dhivakaran also announced himself as the new outfit’s general secretary and appointed his son Jeyanandh as the Student-Youth wing organiser.

Dhivakaran unveiled the outfit’s flag with red and black stripes having a green star in the centre and stated that his outfit would promote Bhakti cult as well as religious harmony. He had earlier slammed Dhinakaran for not having ‘Dravidar’ or ‘Dravidam’ in his party’s name Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam.

Cracks appeared between Dhivakaran and TTV Dhinakaran in April for reasons unclear. Both the sides exchanged blows. While Dhivakaran criticised his nephew saying that he floated his party without consulting the party cadres, Dhinakaran warned that he wouldn’t hesitate to expel anyone who tries to go against the party.
