Actor and BJP politician S Ve Shekher has reportedly filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail after the police filed a case against him under four sections of Indian Penal Code. The police filed the case based on a complaint filed by Tamil Nadu Journalists Protection Welfare Association after Shekher posted derogatory remarks against women journalists on Facebook and later claimed that he shared a friend’s post without reading. He also deleted the post and apologised.
