According to reports, DMK MLAs including MK Stalin arrived wearing black clothes on day one of the Tamil Nadu Assembly that convened on May 29. The move was reportedly a mark of rebellion against the Thoothukudi shooting.
Anti-Sterlite protests have been taking place for 106 days now. However, on the 100th day, protests turned violent after the police opened gunfire against the protestors, due to which 13 died. Following this, Thoothukudi Collector Sandeep Nanduri had the Sterlite copper plant sealed on Monday.
It is expected that the TN Assembly session will be stormy. The opposition party is likely to raise many questions this session. The Assembly will take place from May 29 to June 9.
