Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsAs on May 23, Chennai alone accounted for 64.39 per cent of total confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu. The district reported 624 positive cases on that day which is the highest till date.
In a media briefing on May 23, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy said there is no community spread of the virus in the state.
According to data released by Chennai Corporation on May 24, four zones including Royapuram (1889), Thiru-Vi-Ka-Nagar (1133), Teynampet (1054) and Kodambakkam (1391) have crossed the 1000-mark in COVID-19 confirmed cases.
Other zones that reported COVID1-19 cases include Thiruvottiyur (274), Manali (126), Madhavaram (213), Thondiarpet (974), Ambattur (415), Anna Nagar (829), Valasaravakkam (679), Alandur (107), Adyar (533), Perungudi (152) and Sholinganallur (160).
