COVID-19 Area Wise Break-up for Chennai: Most Affected, Positive, Hospitalised and recovered Cases as of April 29
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsUnder lockdown, with various containment zones, Chennai continues to actively fight the spread of the novel coronavirus. While some areas in Chennai are adversely affected, some other areas which previously showed no signs of infection have recently been reporting cases.
Royapuram is continuing to be the most affected area as 164 people have tested positive, constituting 24% of the total cases reported in Chennai. Following Royapuram is Thiru-Vika-Nagar, where 128 people are infected. 81 people in Teynampet, 70 people in Tondiarpet, 65 people in Anna Nagar, and 60 people in Kodambakkam have tested positive for COVID-19.
26 people from Valasaravakkam and 19 people in Adyar have tested positive, followed by Thiruvottiyur, where 15 people have tested positive. Ambattur has 19 positive cases, and 9 cases in Alandur and Perungudi each have also been reported. Sholinganallur has recorded 2 cases and Madavaram has recorded 4 cases. Within the city limits, Manali stands at 1 case.

103 new cases from across the city have been recorded as of April 29, 8:00am.
Totally 673 cases have been reported in Chennai and 455 people are currently hospitalised for treatment. 13 deceased persons are from Royapuram (5), Thiru-Vika-Nagar (3), Anna Nagar (4), and Tondiarpet (1). 204 people have recovered in the city.

Madhavaram- 3
Tondiarpet- 19 (4 recovered yesterday)
Royapuram – 61 (18 recovered yesterday)
Thiru-Vika-Nagar- 28 (2 recovered yesterday)
Anna Nagar- 19 (1 recovered yesterday)
Teynampet- 24 (4 recovered yesterday)
Kodambakkam- 20 (1 recovered yesterday)
Valasaravakkam- 6
Adayar- 6
Alandur- 5 (1 recovered yesterday)
Perungudi- 7
Sholinganallur- 2
Both Ambattur and Manali have not recorded any recoveries.

The city’s residents are to strictly follow the rules implemented by the authorities, especially those residing in and around the containment zones; to pave way for normalcy to return.
