Pratheeba, a highly motivated student from Villupuram committed suicide on the day NEET results were announced. The medical aspirant consumed rat poison dejected over her NEET debacle.
Pratheeba's suicide rocked the Tamil Nadu assembly on Tuesday with the opposition rounding up on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and allegedly attacked the state government for not getting TN students an exemption from the highly competitive exam, which many feel is an uphill task for students without a change in syllabus.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Chief Thirunavukarasar announced that on behalf of the national party, a solatium of Rs 2 lakh would be extended to the slain girl's family as relief.
