According to reports, CM Edappadi K Palaniswami at the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday stated that there are no restrictions for the people of Tamil Nadu to protest. He clarified that none of the protestors of the anti-Sterlite protests of Thoothukudi was arrested.
He reportedly said, "According to the government, there are no restrictions for the public to protest for their rights. For a long time, thousands of protests have taken place in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu is the only state with most protests in India."
The CM assured that only those who were involved in violence during the anti-Sterlite protests on May 22 will be arrested. He also vouched that the accused were arrested only after thorough investigation.
