Chennai: Youth taken for enquiry found dead hours later

Mouliswaran, from Chinnakavanam village, a 22-year-old BA Political Science student of LNG College in Ponneri was picked up by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for questioning and was found dead hours later on the railway tracks on Saturday.

Mouliswaran was being questioned for stealing railway cables and was picked up on Friday night. The RPF inspector and constable in-charge in the case have since been suspended for negligence.

After hearing of Mouliswaran’s death, his relatives and other local residents protested by blocking trains near Gummidipoondi railway station.
