Chennai: Soon, you could be fined Rs 100 -25,000 for littering

If the Greater Chennai Corporation has its way, soon you could be fined anywhere between Rs 100 - 25,000 for littering, says a report by The NewsMinute. 

The higher markup of Rs 25,000 is proposed to be levied on event organisers, who litter, bury and burn waste and do not segregate.

However, the proposal is pending approval and talks will also be held with citizen groups before making things final.
