Chennai - Security to be tightened for New Year's Eve; Here's what will happen if caught drunk driving!
Home > Tamil Nadu newsAccording to reports, the Chennai police is to ensure an elaborate security system on New Year's Eve for an accident-free and crime-free night.
Security will be tightened from 9 pm on Monday. Reportedly, 15,000 personnel will be deployed for the night to ensure safety. Vehicle checks will be conducted in a total of 368 places in the city including Mylapore, Kilpauk, T Nagar and Adyar.
A total of 25 teams will go around the city in bikes to create road safety. Those caught driving under the influence of alcohol will lose their licenses. Their names will reportedly be recorded in the State Crime Records Bureau. Their vehicles will also be impounded.
