Chennai ‘Fraud’ Gang target Job Seekers, Cheat ‘Lakhs of Money’ from Many Candidates!!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsCriminals exist in different forms and one such group belong to fake job consultancies. As per TOI report, the Chennai police have arrested two people who were involved in massive job racket and thereby cheating several lakhs from more than 50 job aspirants.
The arrested men were handed over to Thoraippakam police. Initial investigations revealed that the mastermind behind the racket is Jones who was working for a merchant shipping management firm on Rajiv Gandhi Salai. It was only after jones obtained few applications and other documents from the recruitment cell belonging to his company, the job racket began.
Jones shared the application forms and documents with one of his friends in Royapuram and both of them locked easy targets who could be lured into to getting money. Further, both of them hired fake agents and made them roam around places such as Srivilliputhur and Tiruppur to advertise their firm.
It was revealed that the fraud gang had cheated 2 crore rupees from more than 50 job aspirants. The police have also arrested two other people named Velkannan and Celix. Reportedly, 5-6 lakh rupees were taken from each of the aspirants.
