Chennai: Karunanidhi taken to hospital

DMK working president M Karunanidhi was taken to Kauvery hospital in Alwarpet, Chennai on Wednesday to undergo tracheostomy for the fourth time to optimise breathing. Reports suggest that the DMK supremo will receive treatment at the private hospital for two days.

Party working president and his son MK Stalin is expected to visit the hospital on Wednesday. Kanimozhi, Member of Parliament and daughter of the veteran politician, is also expected to visit the hospital.

Earlier on June 3 this year on his birthday, Karunanidhi, one of India’s senior-most leaders, had appeared before scores of party cadre and leaders assembled before his house. The cadres cheered and cried out as the five-time Chief Minister made the rare appearance.
