Chennai is set to go into a COMPLETE Lockdown for Four Days; All shops will Remain Closed, Other Details Listed!
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsChennai, Coimbatore and Madurai will remain under a complete lockdown for four days between 6 am to 9 pm from April 26 to 29, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapaddi K Palaniswami, announced on Friday.
The Lockdown will be imposed for three days between April 26- 28 in Salem and Tirupur from 6 am to 9 pm. He also added that violators would face severe legal action and their vehicles would be seized.
As per the report by The Hindu Business Line, all shops and establishments will remain closed during the full- day lockdown in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. Nevertheless, Hospitals, essential services like ATMs, AMMA canteens, restaurants that are undertaking home delivery orders and mobile vegetable carts will be allowed to function.
Shops and other establishments were allowed to run till 1 pm so far. However, during the complete lockdown they will remain closed. The move was taken in order to control the spread of COVID-19 in these five cities that have a high rate of COVID-19 positive cases.
The press release also said that the lockdown will continue to remain as it is in other parts of the state.
