Chennai - Filmmaker murders wife and chops body into pieces; Here's how police caught him
Home > Tamil Nadu newsIn a shocking incident in Chennai, a filmmaker was arrested on Wednesday for murdering his wife, chopping her body into pieces and dumping them away. The woman's chopped body parts, except for the head, was found at a dump yard in Chennai last month.
Sandhya, 37, was an aspiring actor. Sandhya and Balakrishnan got married in Thoothukudi in 2000. Balakrishnan, however, murdered Sandhya due to doubts about her loyalty. Balakrishnan killed Sandhya on January 19, chopped her body parts the next day and dumped them packed in plastic bags in garbage bins in different areas in Chennai.
The police who began their investigation last month noticed two tattoos on the severed hands of the woman. They investigated the Shiva-Parvati and dragon tattoo on the victim and caught Balakrishnan. Reportedly, a bangle too helped solve the crime.
Balakrishnan confessed to having committed the murder. Currently, the police are on the lookout for the woman's head using the information the accused gave.
