According to reports, a young couple in Annai Sathya Nagar near Marina beach committed suicide by hanging as they didn’t have a child of their own even after being married for over five years. Reports suggest that the couple was depressed and the neighbours’ insulting remarks about it added salt to the wound.
The wife committed suicide by hanging himself when the husband was not home. On his return, the husband found her hanging and he also committed suicide by hanging. Reportedly, the couple avoided going to any family functions.
After the couple committed suicide, the neighbours informed the police. The Secretariat police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. The bodies were sent to Rajiv Gandhi government hospital for post-mortem.
