Chennai ATM Robbery Solved - Arrested Bank Staff tells Why and How he Stole Money!

Initially, the man who entered the premises in the pretext of being a sanitary worker but possessed the keys to open the machine. Hence the police had suspected the accused to be an insider. Citing this, they conducted a very detailed interrogation with the bank staff.
Apart from having the keys, the accused had also known the password. After interrogating, the police revealed that the suspect is M.Sivanandan, aged 39. He is an employee who is working in another branch of the same bank. He was the person who regularly loaded cash into the ATM machines.
He had revealed to the police that he didn’t have another option as he had to settle a loan that he had taken in order to build a house in his native place.
The police said that he had casually come to his workplace on Monday, and pretended to not know about the robbery. Inspector T.Radhakrishnan who was leading the team to solve the crime said, “The CCTV footage and the good coordination of our team helped solve the case quickly.”
