4 Killed As Overcrowded Share-Auto Rams Into Bus In Tiruvallur
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsIn a sad and shocking case, four people were killed and seven others have been seriously injured after a private bus rammed into an overloaded share auto at Thirupachur village near Tiruvallur yesterday.
According to the police, the share auto was coming on the wrong side of the road after which the incident took place.
The deceased have been identified as Velu, 45, Karthik, 35, Mani, 60 and Shankar, 38. They were farm labourers from Sivapura who used to travel to other villagers for work.
As per Times of India (ToI) report, the people boarded the auto which was headed towards Thirupachur village. When the auto reached Chennai-Tirupathi Road, a bus which was travelling from Uthukottai rammed into the auto and dragged it to 30 meters killing few on the spot.
Alert locals ran to the spot and informed the police. Meanwhile, when ambulance arrived Velu and Karthik died on the spot while Mani and Shankar scummed to their injures on the way to the hospital.
Only, auto driver Prabhu and two others reached the hospital in the nick on time and are being treated under intensive care.
Currently, police have registered a case in this matter and are on a hunt for the bus driver.
