BJP isn’t blocking arrest of S Ve Shekher: Pon Radhakrishnan

Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon. Radhakrishnan, while speaking to reporters in Thanjavur on Monday, said that BJP is not blocking the arrest of S Ve Shekher. When questioned on Shekher not being arrested yet, the BJP leader said that the Chief Minister and Director General of Police should be asked about it.

A case was filed against S Ve Shekher for sharing a derogatory post on Facebook, which contained obscene remarks against women journalists in Tamil Nadu. Journalists erupted in protest against S Ve Shekher demanded his arrest.

The Madras High Court earlier rejected his plea for an anticipatory bail and observed that the petitioner is a child to be pardoned. While Shekher appealed to the Supreme Court seeking an anticipatory bail, the apex also turned down his plea.
