"CCTV Shows FIR filed by Santhankulam Police Station is a Lie!" - Report

The Sathakulam police had filed a First Information Report regarding the events that went down with Jayaraj and Bennix. While eye-witnesses told a different story from that of the FIR, a CCTV footage has emerged which exposes the real development of the events.

The CCTV footages have been acquired from a shop, King Electricals which is present next to Bennix’s shop. The visuals start around 9pm but according to sources, the timer in the CCTV is 1 hour and 40 minutes fast.

In the visuals, a police jeep can be seen patrolling outside the shop. A police man with a towel wrapped around his face like a mask, approaches the shop and chats with some other men outside Bennix’s shop. A little after, the police officer returns to the jeep. Soon two policemen arrive at Bennix’s shop and they speak to Jayaraj, casually. No tension can be sensed and after the chat, Jayaraj leans against the wall of his shop while the police men retrieve back to their jeep.

Just as the eyewitnesses claimed, the policemen call Jayaraj over to the jeep and hence he obeys. A minute after, a man enters Bennix’s shop to inform about the police after which Bennix and his friend can be seen coming out of the shop and standing next to the police vehicle.

Soon after, Bennix and his friend return to the shop while the police take Jayaraj to the police station. Within minutes, Bennix can be found calling his family to inform about the incident and then getting on a bike with his friends to reach the police station.

However, the FIR registered by the police on June 19, read, “APJ mobiles shop was open beyond the curfew time, violating the lockdown rules. In front of the shop, Jayaraj, Bennix and a few others were standing. We told them not to crowd and go back to their homes. Others listened to us and went home but Jayaraj and his son Bennix sat on the ground and refused to go home, used obscene language at us and rolled on the ground. They got internal injuries because of that.”
