After getting caught in controversies for her allegation about VK Sasikala, D Roopa has now been caught in a fresh controversy.

Roopa, who is currently serving as Inspector General of Police (Home Guard and Civil Defence, Bengaluru), has reportedly sent a handwritten letter to the organisers of “Namma Bengaluru” declining an award saying that the award carried a heavy cash and her conscience does not permit her for the same.

However, the Bengaluru-based non-profit organisation denied awarding anything to D Roopa saying, it’s "immature malicious conduct by a nominee who did not make it to the final winner".

Roopa took to Twitter to comment further on the award. She said, “Namma Bengaluru Award may be good for NGO/citizen groups but not for government servants. Rules do not permit; especially when an organisation has a conflict of interest, NBF having dragged Govt to Court on several matters like Steel Flyover, lake encroachment, sewage into lakes”.

The organisation reportedly slammed the cop saying, “She did not exhibit any such concerns while she was nominated. But after coming to know that the jury has not selected her as the winner, her views are getting surfaced.”
