Areas which are affected the most and least in Chennai: An area wise break up of COVID-19 Cases

The lockdown has been extended with no leniency, door to door tests are being undertaken, the number of people being tested is increasing by the day, and containment zones are being restricted properly in the city. This increase in the number of tests being undertaken has reflected in several positive cases, across different zones.
While some areas in Chennai are adversely affected, some other areas show no signs of infection. Royapuram is affected the most as 92 people have tested positive, constituting 25% of the total cases reported in Chennai. Following Royapuram is Thiru-Vika-Nagar, where 39 people are infected. 38 people in Teynampet, 37 people in Tondiarpet, and 31 people in Kodambakkam have tested positive for COVID-19.
In Thiruvottiyur, 9 people have tested positive followed by 7 people from Adayar and Perungudi each, and 5 cases in Valasaravakkam and Alandur each. Sholinganallur and Madhavaram have recorded 2 and 3 cases respectively. Within the city limits, Manali and Ambattur are the only two zones where no cases have been recorded.

Rapid tests are being actively conducted in Tamil Nadu, and it began in Royapuram on Sunday. Totally 303 cases have been reported in Chennai. The city’s residents are to strictly follow the rules implemented by the authorities, especially those residing in and around the containment zones; in order to pave way for normalcy to return.
