BJP President Amit Shah visited Chennai for a party meeting on Monday. At the meeting attended by BJP workers from all over the state, Shah announced that BJP will form the government in Tamil Nadu.
BJP is currently attempting to forge alliances with other regional parties ahead of the 2019 general elections. Shah said, "The discussions regarding forging alliance with parties in the state will happen around September-October."
However, ironically, Twitter was flooded with #GoBackAmitShah tweets. Nearly 14,000 tweets had been tweeted on Twitter in just one day. When PM Narendra Modi had come for a visit to Chennai in April, nearly 6,00,000 tweets under the hashtag, #GoBackModi was tweeted.
