The members of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam reportedly held agitations in Egmore, Chennai, demanding the arrest of BJP politician S Ve Shekher. They also burned his pictures and shouted slogans against him. Further, two men were seen with depicting the actor-turned-politician in handcuffs.
Journalists and political parties in Tamil Nadu have been demanding the arrest of S Ve Shekher after he posted obscene remarks against women journalists in Tamil Nadu. A journalists’ association filed a case against him following the post. The Madras High Court earlier rejected S Ve Shekher’s petition seeking an anticipatory bail in connection with the case.
The politician was recently spotted together with Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan in a video. When questioned about the incident, the minister said that it was incidental that S Ve Shekher participated in the event in which he also took part. He also said that it is the job of Tamil Nadu police to arrest S Ve Shekher.
