14-year-old Chennai School Boy Run Over by Electric Train
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsIn a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy from Perungalathur was run over by an electric train on Thursday (October 3). As per TOI, it was revealed that the boy had a hearing impairment and got hit while he was crossing the tracks near Perungalathur railway station. The boy was identified as R Pradeep belonging to MGR Street in Kamarajar Nagar near Perungalathur.
Pradeep was studying in a school of a government home near Tambaram Sanatorium. It was reported that the incident happened when he was going to school after quarterly holidays. At around 9 am on Thursday, Pradeep was crossing tracks near Erikkarai and after a while, he got hit by a train going towards Chengalpattu from Beach.
In fact, police said a number of students would cross the tracks while they could use the subway instead to reach the platform. On the day of Pradeep's incident, the rest of the students ran away after alerted by the train's horn.
Unfortunately, Pradeep's inability to listen caused the accident. Later the body of Pradeep was recovered by the Tambaram Railway Police and Railway Protection Force and sent to postmortem at the Chrompet Government Hospital. The incident made Pradeep's parents break down. They said all their 4 children were hearing impaired. Following the shocking incident, the police officers have registered a case.
