May 21 COVID-19 Update:776 Fresh cases, 7 deaths in TN today!

Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, 21 May, reported 776 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state 13,967.

Of the 776 fresh cases today, 79 are passengers returned from other States (Maharashtra - 76, Kerala - 1, Delhi - 1, West Bengal - 1). One person returned from Maldives also tested positive.

Seven persons succumbed to the virus on the date taking the death toll of the state to 94.

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive today – 479/297/0

Total number of Male/Female/Transgender tested positive till date – 8975/4989/3

Total number of functioning COVID-19 testing facilities – 66 (41 government and 25 private)

Total number of samples tested till date – 3,72,532

Total number of samples tested today – 12,464

Total number of persons tested till date – 3,55,893

Total number of persons tested today – 12,100

Total number of suspected individuals in isolation ward admission – 5315

Total number of patients discharged following treatment till date– 6282

Total number of patients discharged following treatment today – 400
