73 fall sick after eating temple prasadam

Almost 73 people fell sick after eating prasadam from an Amman Temple near Ariyalur district on Monday. The victims, including 14 women and six children reportedly ate the Sambar rice offered at the temple after which they became dizzy and started vomiting.

The victims were admitted to a nearby hospital. Many of the victims alleged that the poisoning was due to a dead lizard found in the rice.
