4th Death Reported In India, While Chennai Reports 3rd Positive Case of Coronavirus
Home > News Shots > Tamil Nadu newsAs the positive cases of deadly COVID-19 is increasing in India day by day, the country today reported its fourth death due to the virus. The deceased, was a man, who returned from Germany via Italy few days back. He died at a hospital in Punjab's Nawanshahr district; after complaining of severe chest pain, as per news agency PTI.
State Principal Secretary (Health) Anurag Aggarwal confirmed the news saying that the samples tested positive; he was also a patient of diabetes and hypertension.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that, the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 in India stands at 167 (including 25 foreigners), 4 deaths (1 each) in Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra.
Highlighting about Tamil Nadu's recent case, a 21-year-old student who arrived in the city two days ago from Ireland tested positive for coronavirus. Health Minister C Vijayabaskar took to social media and said, "#coronaupdate: 21 Y student from Dublin,Ireland tested positive for #Covid19. On his arrival on 17.3 @Chennai,he was screened & home quarantined.Y’day18.3 he reported to RGGH with symptoms.Samples sent for testing y’day,confirmed positive today. Pt is stable in isolation at RGGH."
