4 Major cases taken back to support Marina space for Karunanidhi
Home > Tamil Nadu news Lawyer Duraiswamy who has stacked as many as four cases against the state government in response to Jayalalithaa memorial being housed at the Marina, while speaking to the press, said that in case his cases are an impediment for a space to be given to a memorial for DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi, who passed away last evening at 6.10 pm, he is ready to withdraw the same.
Duraiswamy said that his petitions had nothing to do with the present space being asked for Kalaignar, next to Arignar Anna's resting abode. Duraiswamy clarified that he had petitioned against Jayalalithaa memorial since it came under the ambit of a coastal area and as such can't house memorials or monuments.
Earlier, the state government refused to allot a spot for Kalaignar at Marina citing the cases, which attracted a lot of criticism.
